Proof with permission

Recovery stories should be real, consented and carefully told

Start Within Recovery does not use fake testimonials, invented outcomes or dramatic stories without permission. Trust is part of the work.

Consent first

Client stories, family messages and photos should only be shared when explicit permission has been given.

No guaranteed outcomes

Case studies should describe what happened and what support was provided without promising the same result for everyone.

Useful context

The best stories explain the location, situation, service used and next step so families can recognise what support may fit.

Responsible case study format

How future client stories will be written

  • Location: Bali, Spain, England or remote
  • Support type: recovery coaching, addiction counselling, family intervention, sober companion, aftercare or referral support
  • Before: what the person or family was facing
  • Darren's role: what support was provided
  • After: what changed, without exaggeration
  • Client message: first-person words only with permission
  • Photo: consented image or no image at all
Trust FAQs

Why there are not fake stories here

Why not add anonymous testimonials?

Anonymous testimonials can be useful, but only when they are real and approved. Fake proof damages trust, especially in recovery work.

Can a client story be changed for privacy?

Yes. Details can be removed or changed to protect privacy, but the core story should remain truthful and consented.

Will photos be required?

No. A photo should only be used when the person is comfortable, clear about where it will appear and free to say no.

Build trust

Honest proof is stronger than polished fiction.

As real stories are approved, this page can become one of the most important conversion pages on the site.
